After the Battle

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

Assalamualaikum and a very good day :)

Battle? I mean, the election battle. Alhamdulillah, the result was good and to be in the 1st ranking was a bonus to me. Thank you voters, thank you supporters, thank you family and friends.. thank you all! Quoted from Donald H. Mcgannon; "Leadership is action not position". I believe, the ranking doesn't matter but how you walk the talk matters the most. InsyaAllah. I'll try my very best.

Sorry all, I took quite sometimes before I have a chance to write and dedicate my deepest appreciation to all of you. Again, sorry and thank you so much:)

Regarding the election wave in our campus, I would say 27% percentage of vote is a very small number. It is obvious that voting awareness among UTP students are very low and sadly the percentage goes down year by year. More and more students fail to see the importance of selecting their leaders. They simply choose not to choose.
This unhealthy mind set needs to be recovered very soon as students are the future leaders of the nation.

If future leaders choose not to choose, then who will choose to lead? Think and act.

Later. Wslm.

Soon It Will be Goodbye...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

Ramadhan will soon leave us.. Have we fully benefit from Ramadhan? and have we win the battle of Ramadhan and deserve a freedom from the Hell-fire? Only Allah knows..

It is a month whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness and whose end is freedom from hell." (Prophet Muhammad)

Wish that we have managed to grab it all... With Allah wills

A Song which I find very nice... just wanted to share.. hope you'll like it as well.. :)

Rapuh
by Opick

detik waktu terus berjalan
berhias gelap dan terang
suka dan duka tangis dan tawa
tergores bagai lukisan

seribu mimpi berjuta sepi
hadir bagai teman sejati
di antara lelahnya jiwa
dalam resah dan air mata
ku persembahkan kepadaMu
yang terindah dalam hidup

meski ku rapuh dalam langkah
kadang tak setia kepadaMu
namun cinta dalam jiwa
hanyalah padaMu

maafkanlah bila hati
tak sempurna mencintaiMu
dalam dadaku harap hanya
diriMu yang bertahta

detik waktu terus berlalu
semua berakhir padaMu

There're few days left in Ramadhan...it's never too late.. let's strive till the end..

It's Ramadhan

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

It's Ramadhan again. Alhamdulillah.. Praise be to the Almighty because He has selected us to be the chosen one to benefit from the blessed month of Ramadhan in which He promises forgiveness, acceptance of prayers and release from the Hell-fire.

Now that Ramadhan is here. It is simply the right time to change towards a better Muslim. Get rid of bad habit and develop a good one. I always believe; When we start with Allah and the rest would be just fine. :)
So, friends.. May Allah make this Ramadhan a chance for us to be closer to Him and reward us with His forgiveness.

Wishing everyone a great Ramadhan and hopefully we would fully benefit from it. InsyaAllah.

No eating during the day ok.. adik ni pon pndi :)

Reaching the Heart

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Week four of internship period is approaching very soon and there it goes, almost a month of working life. Time simply flew without us realizing it, isn't it? Put aside all regrets, learn, look forward, plan and get things done. That's how life works.

Reaching the Heart? I believe there must be a question mark in your mind.

Well, given 8 months without studies burden had made me to come out with many goals to be achieved. Choosing not to share all on the list, I only share this particular one which I hope you'll be benefited in anyway. InsyaAllah.

Reaching the Heart of Family and Friends.

Being faraway from kl and busy with various activities back then in the campus just make me realize that I had missed so many things and really need to catch up.

Praying hard each and everyday. Trying to be the best daughter, sister as well as friend indeed and in need.
Allah, please..

Demonstration, why?

Assalamualaikum :)

It has been a while since the last post. Well, the silent was due to final exam and followed by first week of internship. New things, interesting, tiring - a mixture of feeling. I'll tell you in a different post, InsyaAllah.

Having to leave UTP for 8 months of internship period doesn't put a full stop to write on what's happening back there. Today, MPPUTP organized a peace rally or a demonstration against the Israeli attack on Gaza Mission near the mosque area after Friday Prayer. Even though most of the campus community is currently enjoying the semester break, the rally still proceed. Good Job and keep up the good work MPP.

It was the Israeli deadly attack on the Freedom Flotilla on 31st May that brought up the anger in every individuals across the globe. The flotilla was carrying 10 000 tonnes of aids meant for Gaza and 700 volunteers on board. It was a humanitarian mission but it was attacked by the Israeli forces as if it was a military mission carrying armies and weapons to break into Gaza. In the attack which took place in the international waters 65km from the Gaza coast, 19 people were dead and many experienced injuries.

Many parties voiced up and condemned on the attack made by the Israeli forces. Demonstration is one of the way to voice up. Some might ask, do the Israeli armies hear the shouts? do any of the army come to the demo? and some might end up saying, there's no point of demonstration, it is a waste of time and worst, stop thinking on Gaza issue.

In any demonstration made, it was very clear that it can't stop the Israeli forces from bombing the Palestinians or shooting them on the head right away. Why demo then? You'll be asking.

Demonstrations or condemnation statements are meant to create awareness, to spread the information, to show protest and dislike and to show the Israeli forces that the world is now against them. Just a simple question for you to ponder, before the freedom flotilla was attack, do Gaza issue gain this much of attention from the whole world? I believe you have the answer.

11th June 2010: UTP mosque
(Tuan Hj. Mat Nor Rosli- Director of SSSD and Mustapa Mansor- activist on Marvi Marmara) more

When the flotilla decided to go and break the siege, many people worldwide doubt on the success of the mission. This didn't stop them from reaching their target to bring help for Gaza. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to break the siege due to the pirate-like attack by the Israeli forces. But the attack did bring hikmah in      another way round. It managed to gain the attention of the whole world and proves the world that Israel is the greatest criminal of the planet earth.

Same goes to the demonstrations or condemnations made by many parties, it may not stop the Israel-Palestine war immediately but it will somehow bring an impact on this issue. Sooner or later. Hope that it will make people more aware of what's happening in Gaza and act fast. (boycott, donate, pray and etc.) Remember, don't bother on the result, the effort that is always counts.

Let's pray and hope that our little effort will at least lighten up a small chance to break the Gaza's Siege.

Two Different Path

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Somehow it turns out that my writing mood flies back this morning :)
One more paper before reaching the end of January 2010 semester. Hope to have it nicely done on this Monday.. InsyaAllah. So many had passed in such a quick time and we might not be aware that each step taken actually cause a change to world in some way.

Going through various online news every single day makes me wonder and at the same time worry on the world we are living in today. You see, we are walking on the same planet earth but we are living a world of our own.

At some parts of the world....

The biggest attempt by international aid groups to break the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip has gotten underway.

Nine ships under the banner, Freedom Flotilla, began their journey to Gaza on Saturday, despite warnings from Israel that they will be stopped for “breaching Israeli law”. The vessels are carrying 5,000 tonnes of reconstruction materials, school supplies and medical equipment.

The biggest of the nine ships set off from Istanbul, Turkey, heading to the south western city of Antalya where two other Turkish ships will be waiting to join the convoy.

The three ships will then travel to the waters off Athens and Crete to rendezvous with the other six, before making the four-day journey to Gaza. (more)

JAKARTA, May 27 — In a bid to implement Islamic law to the letter, Indonesia’s West Aceh district yesterday started giving away long, loose skirts to cover up Acehnese women caught wearing tight jeans.

The westernmost province of Aceh on Sumatra is the sole upholder of sharia law in the predominantly Muslim, but secular Indonesia. The previous local parliament passed a controversial law in September allowing adulterers to be stoned to death. (more)

“Wearing hijab for Muslims could not be dealt with as wearing a necklace with a cross pendant for Christians,” he said.

He indicated that the sentiments against niqab or hijab were a reflection of a desire by European countries to impose their culture on others.

“I have received a recent visit by French ambassador Gilles Bonnaud and I explained these things to him. I told him that Muslims believed in the unity of humanity but also believed that each nation should stick to its traits,” he added.

“When Muslims ruled India, they did not close down temples or impose a ban on cremation. It is the duty of each nation to respect the values of the other, but with the European case, we can make it difficult for French and Belgian women who stay in Muslim countries by asking them to stick to a modest dress,” he quoted from the conversation he had with the French ambassador to Qatar. (more)

And the other parts...

A new Miss USA was crowned last night, the first American Muslim woman believed to have held the title in a pageant of beauty that has caused some divided loyalties in the Islamic community.

Rima Fakih, 24, took the prize ahead of 50 other finalists at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. She moved to the US as an infant, first to New York and then in 2003 to Dearborn, Michigan, where she now lives. (more)

The Government has gone ahead to legalize sports gambling despite protest coming from various sectors. It has been reported that Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak issued a football betting license to the Berjaya Group and it is also apt what with the FIFA World Cup which will commence in South Africa for a month, starting from June 11. Berjaya, which is owned by Tan Sri Vincent Tan, had earlier sought licensing from the Government to operate sports gambling operation however it was rejected by former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Now, Berjaya has become the one and only football gambling company in the country. (more)

There are a lot more happening all over the world concerning Islam. These are only fews. The difference is very obvious. Some choose to stand for Islam.. firm in their beliefs yet some choose to put Islam aside.. find it no longer applicable in this modern era.

Imagine you are travelling in a car with a friend. Both with the same destination which offers two different ways go get there. One with a massive traffic jam and the other a smooth journey all the way. You have all it takes to make your way there.; map and even GPS. You need to make a good judgement but at the end of the day only one road can be taken. How is it possible for a car to travel in two ways at the same time right?

We are not only walking on the same planet earth just like I said earlier but we are also wearing the same batch as a Muslim. We share the same planet, we share the same religion and that simply makes us share the same responsibility. The responsibility to put Islam at its right position. We have Al-Quran and Sunnah as our guidance. To lead us to the correct way. But it seems like we are taking two different path. It would be better if we have the understanding and decide to travel on the same path, isn't it?

Thousand Secrets..

It's raining outside.. heavily I would say. I like it very much when it rains..

A song to share. Very nice music arrangement, soothing lyrics and obviously matches the weather now..

Here goes..

Anugerah Istimewa
by: Mirwana

Oh hujan yang turun membasahi bumi
Rahmat dari Ilahi
Oh awan yang menangis tandanya kesyukuran
Di atas nikmat Tuhan

Sedarilah insan hanya kepadaNya
Sujudlah bersyukurlah
Titis hujan yang gugur bersama sejuta rahsia
Anugerah istimewa hidup insan penuh bahagia

Titisan yang suci bersama kedinginan
Cetuskan ketenangan hati
Bumi yang disuburi alam indah menyanyi
Flora dan fauna pun berzikir
Berusahalah insan semai benih setia
Berbakti seikhlasnya

Titis hujan yang gugur bersama sejuta rahsia
Anugerah istimewa hidup insan penuh bahagia

Oh khalifah dunia
Ciptaan paling mulia
Segala nikmat Allah hargai sebaiknya
Panjatkan doa sentiasa kepada yang Kuasa

Thank You Allah.. You give us sunshine, You give us rain.. What more can we ask for.. Syukur to the Almighty :)

Sick.. a whistle blow.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

When breath suddenly stuck..difficult and pain. Tears keep running down unconsciously.. sudden blackouts.. Allah..A Name which will never be forgotten..

Sickness.. painful.. yet, remember..
Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, 'When a Mu'min experiences any fatigue, disease, sorrow, grief, hurt or distress, even to the extent that if a thorn has to prick him, Allah Ta'ala wipes away some of his sins for that.' (Sahih Bukhaari)
Beautiful isn't it?
Allah forgives us for every hardship He put us through.. Love of Allah.. Mahabbatullah.. Like no other..

It's very clear why Allah created hardship, obstacles and sickness in life even though He can make every dream comes true.
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, 'When Allah Ta'ala wishes good for a person, then he becomes afflicted with sickness (or hardship).' (Sahih Bukhaari)
It is only to get us closer to Him. To remember and to always rely to.. To seek for hope and help in every single thing.

This is what I meant by a whistle blow. Reminding us that life is temporary and here after is a long journey yet to come. A reminder from The Creator.

Mr.Policeman, use your gun wisely!

Despite of the preparation for final exam and internship program, I was called to write on this particular issue involving police officers and how they use their gun.

hmm.. first, it was Arwah Aminulrasyid (more: Khalid Samad & Art-Harun) and now Mohd Azizi Aziz. (more: TheStar)

The two cases were quite similar. Both cases involved teenagers and both happened on the road. One with a car and the other with a motorcycle. The different is Mohd Azizi was very fortunate to live on to tell the tale while Arwah Aminulrasyid had to keep his tale hidden.

But, the question here is.. Again? I mean, right after such a havoc created by Arwah Aminurasyid case which was shot dead by a policeman? Don't police officers take home some lessons learnt?

This is Malaysia we are living in. Not a country where you can simply  use your gun to shoot anyone who seems suspicious and "suspected" to cause harm to the public. Is there actually a necessity to shoot someone who is only a suspect? again, only a suspect...

The Home Ministry and the police department came out with an official "cover up" statement regarding this matter and did openly apologize to the victim's family. Yet, we are talking about lost of lives here. We can simply say it was a mistake or it was an accident. But, what if it is one of our family members or maybe ourself? Nauzubillah ..

Can mistake be a solid reason then?

Everybody should learn something. Government, Police, You and Me. Laws pertaining to firearms should be given serious attention and be tighten.

Please, no more shooting unnecessarily Mr.Policeman.

Palestine; a Long Story.. When Will It Ends

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...

This week I was involved in preparing a donation drive to support a noble mission named Viva Gaza in which a ship from Malaysia and 20 more countries will be leaving for Palestine on the 16th May 2010. With a tagline; A lifeline from Malaysia to Gaza, this mission led by an NGO targets to bring helps to the Palestinian in term of medications, food, study aids and materials for construction which cost almost rm10 million. The donation will be used to support this cost and ensure that those people there get the help they needed.

When I was preparing for this donation drive, I was thinking that it would be great if the donation could reaches up a high figure. Yet, we can't force people to donate. But, lets put a hard work on our side by spreading the information. Thank you for getting me involved in such a noble effort.(from a miscommunication to a semangat thing I would like to do..hehe) Every single step counts. InsyaAllah.

Israel-Palestine War is a never ending story. It started with a conflict between Israel-Palestine which continues until this moment. I have no intention to bring you through the timeline of this war. But, let us see the implication on the world they are living today. They live in such terrifying world where people are walking with weapons day and night, children do not even know the meaning of peace, mothers lost their husbands and children each and everyday.. and do compare with the world we are living today. Ya Allah, should us all be grateful of the life we have today.

I had a discussion with a very good friend of mine regarding this issue. We came out with a conclusion about the responsibility each person holds. And I feel like sharing it to my readers as well. Well, good things are meant to be shared, aren't they?

"Palestine issue is no longer a religion issue where focuses on one specific religion to help out. It is more on human rights. Each and everyone holds an equal responsibility to lend a helping hand on the lost of life, welfare of the Palestanian, the damage of properties and many other disasters they have suffered."

This boy should be in school. But he is now holding a weapon and go for fights at his young age. Not because he wanted to, not because his religion asked him to but the surroundings made him to.

What do I have more to say? Think deeply but let your heart decide this time.

SRCUTP is Going Green!

The planet Earth we are living in today is getting hotter by the day. The average temperature is increasing extremely higher than the usual days in few years back. It is undeniable that this climate change gives such big impact in our daily life.

While most people would blame it on the El Nino effect, the fact is most of the problems are the result of our own activities.

Feeling the urge to spread the awareness regarding this issue throughout the campus community, SRCUTP proudly introduce a new event with the aim to shape a loving-environment society in the campus which contributes to a greener, healthier and lifelong planet.

National Green Convention 2010 is an initiative of Students Representative Council 2009/10 of UTP to support the world’s concern on green initiatives and to inculcate the awareness on world’s environmental movement among UTP students.

Targeted to impose such great impact, this event covers various aspects in promoting green such as education, science, technology and entertainment. A lot of activities will be conducted such as green campaign, green technology exhibition, conference, concert and many more.

SRCUTP invites you to be part of our team to spread the green waves all over the campus!

Come and Join Us

p/s: This article is yet to be posted on UTPress.net but UTPress.net is currently facing with a technical problem and still in construction. Hope, this would help to spread the info.

Wondering the reason why..

Having doubt at this moment of life..
Questioning without having any answer in return..

How long will this continue?
Will it stops?
Giving up.. Never and never will
I guess.. just tired of being very picky in what goes into the body
Maybe or maybe not
Just wondering when it will go away
Just wondering what's the end of this

Just wondering what Allah has to tell from it.......

Keeping the believe and holding on cause Allah will always be the greatest planner of all.
Sometimes, He will not give a direct answer which He can but He refused to.
No other than He wanted us to be lost in His love while fulfilling our curiosity.
Guide us Allah... Aminn..

Today is our big day.

Assalamualaikum..

Yes, today is our big day. Whose big day? All 3rd Year 1st Semester students. Finally, after all the effort, time and money spent, our babies are ready to be presented and evaluated. Yup2, not real baby actually. Baby = our product/project/prototype (what ever you call it.. it means the same).. hehe..

Just like a mother who spent 9 month of her time carrying her baby everywhere, where all the attention are given to the pregnancy and when it is about time to deliver.. no one would be able to describe a mother's feeling. Unless you are a mother. ;)

I guess that most of us feel the same way I did. Anxious, nervous, eager, excited, happy.. all at the same time.

bersungguh-sungguh kan die?

All the best Enginnering Team Project (ETP) 21!

All the best Jan07, 3rd Year 1st Semester students.

A great formula to success.

Success = Effort + Prayer + Tawakal

InsyaAllah..

author's note: Hope i'll be recovered soon. A healthy body is what i need on this very important day.. i really don't want to spoil others ;)

Assalammualaikum.

Dear Sdr Hanif,

Congratulations on this noble effort.  I am very happy to note MPPUTP has responded well to my challenge on the need to organize sustainable community development programs especially with communities nearby UTP.  For the moment focus on these two schools.  After two months of implementation, pls do an evaluation to check effectiveness of the program and decide on way forward.

Pls contact SSSD or my office if you require any further assistance in managing this program.

InFUD

InFUD is everywhere! People are talking about it here and there, posters can be seen all over the campus and obviously a spreading disease in your messengers list (gtalk, YM and etc) where almost everybody have InFUD on their status!

[InFUD+Poster.jpg]

InFUD stands for INTERFAITH UNDERSTANDING DIALOGUE 2010. It is an initiative of all student bodies together with almost all registered clubs in UTP to achieve an objective of understanding. Religion, believe and faith are always claimed to be sensitive topics which will lead to misunderstandings and fights. This claim has causes these topics to be left and untouched in most open discussions in the country and specifically in UTP .

Living in such a modern and educated environment, some universities had taken few steps ahead in organizing an open discussion on religion. 2010 shows that it is about time for  UTP to grab the challenge in organizing Interfaith Understanding Dialogue. The organizing committees believe that UTP students are well educated, open minded and able to think wisely. Having these characteristics, UTP students are extremely ready to face the Interfaith Understanding Dialogue.

Are you ready? Don't be left behind. No entry fee, only for the sake of knowledge.

INTERFAITH UNDERSTANDING DIALOGUE 2010

Date: 1st March 2010
Time: 8.00pm - 11.40pm
Venue: Chancellor Hall, UTP

Let's be united through understanding of other religions.

It is not about comparing and choosing the best.

Only a way in accepting similarities and respecting differences.

Feb 28, 2010

If it is taken, what is left?

It's getting worse.

"Is it that bad?" she asked the old guy in front of her. The doctor tried so hard to say it gently, not to hurt her. She never thought it can be that serious. The room was quite for few seconds.

She trembles at the very thought of what had happened in the morning. She calls her family that night. Thought of sharing the news with the nearest people to her, ayah and ibu. Just to ease the restless heart. But everybody sounds very happy about something that night. Decided not to do so, she chooses to keep it within herself.

She knows some kind of motivation is something that she really needs at that moment. So, she browses through the internet. Looking for article or any reading material to be inspired with and to boost up the courage in her. From minutes to hours, she takes almost the whole night to sooth her heart. Luckily, out of many pages she had browsed through, she finally finds the perfect words to feed her sorrow heart.
"Dan jika kamu menghitung-hitung nikmat Allah, niscaya kamu tidak dapat menentukan jumlahnya. Sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang."  (An-Nahl: 18).
Tears running down from her eyes. Regretting herself for being very weak in facing the test that Allah has chosen for her.

"He might had taken away that one particular grace that He had lent me all this while.. But there are so many being left and given without having me asking from Him...Subhanallah..." the small voice in her speaks.

Now, she realizes that every sadness and pain is a test from Allah. Not to punish but to make our spirit strong in meeting tomorrows. She wipes the tears on her face and put on a tender smile. Praying for a better days ahead.

.......................the end.......................

For you and me;

His test is not an option for us to choose. It is in His hand.

If one of us happen to be chosen sooner or later, learn to be grateful. Why? Because Allah has chosen us out of millions of people in this world. We have His attention. Isn't that great?

Let's try to accept His test with sincerity and face it with patient.

"Maka bersabarlah kamu dengan kesabaran yang baik." (Al-Ma'arij: 5)

CnS 1st event

Alhamdulillah, last 20th February 2010 CnS EXCO with the help of 14 facilitators managed to conduct our very own 1st event; Systematic Community Service.

Sorry, I'm not in a mood of writing tonight. Still thinking about that little something and I'm quite tried after the whole day trip to Penang for our wastewater engineering course. A short and simple one from me.

So, let the pictures explain it all......

In SMK Layang-Layang Kiri (Led by Exco I).

In SMK Muhamad Shah (Led by Exco II)

Travel two weeks back

Salam,
Alhamdulillah. Being at home has always lighten me up ;)

It was such a released to be able to be at home after almost one and a half month of hard work in UTP. Alhamdulillah.

Time has always been very jealous of me in the past few weeks which restricted me from updating on the 'hard work' I mentioned before. Well, Mr.Time seems to be a bit generous tonight. So, let's recall what had happened in the previous episode of the drama entitled 'UTP, SRC and Sara Lyana.'

  • 1st-3rd February - We had Minggu Mesra Kampus. SRCUTP and Martial Arts Festival collabrated to organized MMK successfully and came out with A Martial Arts Night for the first time during MMK.
  • 4-5th February - Rakan Exco Recruitment Drive. It was great and glad to have our new rakan exco with us now. Good Job CnS(don't miss CnS 1st meeting..hehe)
  • 6th February - Dinner with VP of Education PETRONAS
  • 7th February - Rakan Exco Kick-Off night. (Syed and I wore purple that night. My rakan exco should too but they forgot..hmm)
  • 8th February - SRC Weekly Meeting.
  • 9th February - Session with Class Representatives. An informative session with both good feedback and critics thrown to us. Those who came were really outspoken and helpful. If only everyone dare to come and share their thought with us rather than expressing the unsatisfied feeling to the wrong channel. SRC will keep improving and we can do that even more effecient by having all of you with us. That is what we meant by 'Pursuing Togetherness'.
  • 10th February - Welcoming Session for International Students of Jan10 intake by Culture and Society Exco. Syed (my exco 1) and I conducted a slot to welcome our international friends on behalf of SRCUTP. We gave them an overview of life in UTP and pointed out few steps they should consider as the starting moves to make friends and mingle around.
  • 11th February - Urgent Titian Budi Meeting as preparation to meet Ketua Menteri Melaka on the next day. They looked stressful. Yet, I can only say all the best and I'll pray for the very best. You all had work very hard so far. Thus, just leave the rest to Allah.
  • 12th February - Chinese New Year break. Gong Xi Fat Cai and Happy Holiday. Optimize your time with your family.

That's all for now. Mr.Time says it's time to sleep. Good night.

saat malam semakin sunyi, ku mohon keampunanMu atas kelalaian diakibat urusan dunia..moga setiap pekerjaan mendapat redhaMu..ya Rabb.
